Sconia, officially the Islamic State of Sconia, is a country located in Ecros bordering Tumland and Pavulturilor. It is an Islamic nation that practices Islamic law and takes it seriously. Sconia has great relations with Tumland, a neighboring country, while Sconia has tense relations with neighboring nation Pavulturilor due to the Pavulturilori government denying the Muslims to rebuild the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Sconia is a moderately stable country with an average economy.

History

Monarchy Era

After the downfall of the Holy Templar State in 1537, the Sconian Caliphate was established; it was ruled by Muhammad Al-Skonyani, one of the commanders that became the Caliph of Sconia. The Sconian Caliphate was stable and had average wealth; it is regarded as one of the best eras of Sconia. The Caliphate was invaded by the Folkon Empire in 1737, and Sconia got independence in 1778.

Downfall of the Monarchy

In 1972, a military leader, Ali Al-Nour, overthrew the Caliphate and established the Islamic Republic of Sconia. He claimed the Caliphate got away from true Islamic teachings, and he convinced some people that it was a good idea to overthrow the Caliphate.

The dictatorship era

Once Ali Al-Nour got in power, he removed the sharia legislation so that he would be the only one in charge of the country. The dictatorship era of Sconia was cited as being the worst era in Sconian history, with multiple famines and a significant increase in poverty.

Law

Sconia uses the Islamic Sharia Law as the ruling system.

Government Structure

Sconia is a unitary Islamic directorial republic, where the directorate consists of the legislature, judiciary, and Supreme Court. The directorate is the head of government, and the Caliph cannot interfere with the directorate. The Caliph is also a head of government and a head of state, The Caliph can pass laws that are not contridicting to Islamic Sharia

Legislature

The Legislature is the body that removes or changes laws in necessity, as Islamic Sharia cannot be changed unless it is proven that some laws are causing injustice to people.

Judiciary

The Judiciary is the body that interprets Qur'an and Hadith and forms rulings from them. For things not mentioned in both of these texts, the Judiciary forms rulings with the Qur'an and Hadith as references.

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is the body that decides if a law should be applied by the state or if it should be a law between a person and God.

Consultative Council

The Consultative Council consists of the Caliph and appointed members chosen by the Caliph; they consult each other on laws before they are implemented and how they should plan things for the nation.
