Reykanes, officialy known as Republic of Reykanes,(Reykani: Reykjanes), is a Nordic island country between the Vernier Ocean and Acernis Ocean on the island called Nurderlia and it's the most sparsely populated country in the Northern Hemisphere. The capital and largest city is Hafnir. Hafnir and the surrounding areas in the south and South West of the country are home to over two-thirds of the population. Nurderlia is volcanically and geologically active. in Reykanes the largest volcano is called Hekla but the most active is Katla to this day.The interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains, and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Nurderlia is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence keep summers chilly, and most of the islands regions have a polar climate. The region is famous for its large contities of oil. This and cod farming makes up most of its economy. Its Oil is sold all around the world to most nations. Reform Party is in office currently since 2011. currently theres other 6 parties. elections are held every 6 years.

History
the Proto-Reykanes civilization:
The first sight of People on the island are the Proto Reykani people in just before prehistoric times when the island was connected to the ancient Ecros by ice in the Ice age. When it ended only smaller version of the island remained and after a decade the Volcanos erupted like Hekla and Katla and enlarged the island and showed new areas for settlement. However This almost Killed of its inhabitants which started the dark ages where the population mainly remained near 300 when it was about 500 before. This dark age remained for centuries until the volcanos calmed down. The earliest major Tribes were made in 120 BC . Mostly isolated for decades till the Northerner people called Vikings discovered them. They Pillaged the coastal tribes for resources till they finnaly settled down in Cape Nátfari and later Traveled to the Reykanes penninsula. Hafnir the currently capital was established in 114 BC when most of the Vikings settled down. With this the Vikings and the Proto-Reykani people made peace and lived together and formed the Kingdom of Reykanes in 112 BC under King Nátfarri which existed till 1322. A new language was created later known as Reykani and that evolved many times. It's a mixture of what the Vikings spoke and the first languages there. In 97 BC explorer Garðar Svavarsson sailed around the land piece Confirming it was a island. The vikings brought the people the Norse mythology. This was the first aspects of religion in Reykanes till Christianity was brought in.
The Kingdom of Reykanes
King Nátfarri (112 BC-88 BC)
He is the first king who put Reykanes on the map. He also started diplomacy with the other Northern kingdoms and started trade with them. Biggest trade was our Cod farms which had the most jobs and food and in return we got to learn new things.
King Ingólfr (88 BC-55 BC) Son of Nátfari was coronated in 88 BC. He continued his fathers diplomacy and have made new rules againts common problems. At the time only half of the Penninsula was under him and Southern parts of the island ,like Cape Nátfari which was connected by the shore line. He has started to "colonize" the entire Penninsula which he Cultivated and built more towns and villages. There were some other tribes who didnt unite with the kingdom and some Battles occured which he all won.
King Guðni The Pillager(55 BC-1 BC) Son of Ingólfr was who terrfied the northern settlements on all continents. He started building the Reykani fleet which consisted of 150 ships. He Pillaged Villages and raided them for loot. He was also called the Ruler of North for a short time till in 124 BC he lost against Quebescirian fleet in the Battle
Last decades of the kingdom(1 BC-1322)
Reykanes started trading by nearby nations that resulted in being put on the map and being used as a halfway resting point between Ecros and Ostlandet. The Kingdom will last for another 300 years. Another 17 kings continued the family tree till 1322.
1322: Hekla Erupts:
This was the worst volcano eruption in Reykani history. Town called Hoffner that was the nearest populated settlement near Hekla since the farm lands was plentifuel due to volcanic activity. Hekla erupted in 1322 and destroyed most towns near it and Hoffner was the biggest. Then The king called Skapti was visiting the volcano in hope seeing beatifuel volcanic activity but at the wrong time and he lost his life there. He died with another estamated 1.5 thousand people.(at that time the total population was 3.4 thousand). He died without a son nor any other family member thus ending Sigfússon Monarchy and the first and only Reykani monarch era.The ruins of Hoffner can be visited today. Due to no succesion the kingdom fell apart and it was devided in to 16 noble estates. After this started the War of the Reykani Succession. This was caused because of Paleocacherian influence and who wanted to restore the the Monarchy.
Reykani Commonwealth (1328-1949)
The Reykani Commonwealth was created by the person called Sturla in 1328 and to pledge of fealty to the Western paleocacher kingdom. It was under this country where todays border was made. Before this the Reykani and Paleocacher civilizations were good allies and traders. More towns popped up when more People from outside settled down. Reykanes with their position was a good stop for any fleets traveling between continents. In the late 1400s the nation attempted in re colonizing the areas near Hekla, which were good grounds for agriculture and by early 1500 the nation reconquered it and expanded its industry. At first people were not sure to move back there. Their families were scared by generations after the volcano incident and didnt want the same happening to them like what happened to their past relatives, but eventually they would regain confidence and moved there. A rapid growth happened in late 1500s. Reykanes started opening uo to the world once again. Those days after the volcano incident stopped. More lands were "colonized" in the proccess leading half of the island being under Reykanes managing to go through the rough terrain. 121 Prime ministers were in office. In 1866 When the monarchy died out, the first President was elected in Reykani history. This decision was made due to no King to pledge the fealthy to. Without a Major ruler the country Wouldnt go far. The First President is Sveinn Björnsson(1866-1874). Presidental election would be every 4 years. The Commonwealth helped the Republicans in the Quebecshirite Civil War with aid and volunteers. The intervention lasted from 1612 till the war ended in 1623.
Norse war (1805-1807)
In 1694 Many Norse people traveled north in hopes to Create their own nation and practice their own religion. At that time in the Commonwealth, Christian was practised which many if the Nordic people disliked. Many felt surpressed since they couldnt practise their culture. At the end of 1720s a couple of Norse rebuplics were made. Nationalism in that era was strong. When the commonwealth discovered the Republics, their reaction weren't positive. At that time the Commonwealth was planning on "colonizing" the northern parts of Nurderlia. In 1779 The 3 Norse republics Splitted the Northern lands between them before the Reykanes took the last areas. The war started when Reykanes Annexed Ylfings and entered its territory,taking it over and started the war. Reykanes did not recognise any of the republics. The present day border would be established after this war
Rise of Socialism and their power(1948-1957)
From 1940s life quality has started to
become worse. Corruption has spread everywhere in the commonwealth. Crime rate has increased due to poverty and due the bad distrubition of wealth. Reykanes relied on outside trade to keep its economy good but that has slowed down due to corruption. the government had created big depths with other countries. Socialist Brynjólfur has created the Socialist Party of Reykanes which quickly got popular with people who wanted change and an end to corruption. They demanded a referum which they got due to high pressure from their followers. They won the referendum in 1948 but with some controversial ways like Cheating and bribeing but this was a secret. Foreign Communist advisors was also been invited from Zloveshchiy and Ajakanistan to help. Everyone had jobs and life was better at first. Military was booming with inevations and larger numbers.. Elections ceased to exist and a secret police had been established. Anyone againts the party was arrested. in 1953 when he abolished the constitution, it became a full on dictatorship and a communist regime when all the socialist parties united. People from other nationality was deported. Ties with other countries has completely dissapeared. Corruption reappeared. People soon realized that nothing changed,changes were needed but it seemed impossible. Reykani Socialist Republic Existed for 9 years
Coup d'etat and establishment of democracy(1957- )
Started from student protests to a full on coup d'etat on the government happened in July in 1957. Many people wanted to end the communist rule. A party member called Bjarni agreed and he secretly started his group againts Brynjólfur. He disagreed with his policies before the socialist parties united. When the protests happened, he took advantage of it and have turned the military againts him since he got loyalist deep in. Some shoot outs happened in some streets in Hafnir but it quickly ended when they arrested Brynjólfur. He rewrote the constitution and reestablished elections. He turned his party in to Democratic Socialists. Soon the new nation would have to go to war with the socialists in the Ajaki–Reykani War. Fortunately they managed to win it with help, however the military would be severely damaged and size got so small which resulted in dispanding it and giving it to the police. For 3 years Reykanes didnt have any active military. After the economy was stabilized the military was remade in 1963. Today 6 parties still exist. Currently the Reform Party is in office.
Regions of Reykanes
The regions of Reykanes are eight areas of Reykanes that roughly follow the arrangement of parliamentary constituencies as they were between 1984 and 2003. These regions are not incorporated polities but rather recognized groupings of municipalities. Reykanes only has two levels of administration, the national government and 18 municipalities. The municipalities have organized themselves into eight regional associations and those boundaries are also recognized by Statistics Reykanes to report statistics. Since 2014, police and commissioner (sýslumaður) districts have followed the eight region model. The divisions of Reykanes for the purposes of health care and district courts diverge more from the commonly used eight region model.
