The PA-9 (Slavic: ПА-9), is a Zloveshchiyan-designed compact rifle. Its development began when Plamya Building Plant was ordered by the Zloveshchiyan Defense Ministry to create a new rifle to be primarily used by the Zloveshchiyan Special Forces, specifically, the counter-terrorism unit, the Black Wolves for anti-terrorist operations.

Thus, they began designing a silent, frame-less, compact rifle in 1995. The basis for the silent, flame-less shooting complex rifle was designated as the PA-9, where it uses a quick-detachable suppressor. It uses the 9×39mm subsonic cartridge.

The PA-9 supports wide range of attachments such as a mounted grenade launcher, laser sights, tactical lights and other tactical accessories. The trigger mechanism allows it to fire in semi-automatic fire and fully automatic fire.

History

In 1995, after the Tragedy of Miro, the Zloveshchiyan Defense Ministry requested the Plamya Building Plant to design a rifle suitable for use in special operations to combat the monarchist terrorist group, the Crescent Moon. Afon Plamya, factory manager, stated that the rifle was for special forces for anti-terrorism purposes.

Afon Grigorev, one of the designers of the PA-9, says "It shoots virtually without a sound and it can pierce through bullet-proof vests".
