The first minister of Hapatmitas (Cantuath: ciad mhinistear na Hapatmitas) is the head of government of Hapatmitas. The first minister leads the Cabinet and co-chairs the executive with the Presidency. Created under the semi-presidential system in 1950, the first minister is responsible for administering public and domestic policy as well as administering the business of a session of the National Assembly. The first minister governs with the confidence of a majority of the National Assembly; as such, the first minister typically sits as a delegate and leads the largest party or coalition of parties. The first minister is appointed by the Presidency at the start of every parliamentary term. Doug Macintosh is the current first minister, succeeding Cormac Gilchrist on 13 April 2024.
