Adalem officially the State of Adalem (Kivuian: Staat Adalem), is a state in central Kivu bordering the states of Ackarem, Kampfhabuch, Jork and Vierbergen. Favern is the state capital of Adalem, as well as the largest city. Adalem is the second-smallest of Kivu’s twenty five staats, with an area of 21,740 square kilometres (8,394 sq mi), and the thirteenth-most populous, with 2,193,225 inhabitants, as of 2020.
