The Kivuian Navy (Kivuian: Kivuische Marine), sometimes referred to as the Kivuian Naval Forces (Seestreitkräfte) is the naval warfare branch of the Kivuian Armed Forces. Founded in 1910, after the conclusion of the Kivuian Civil War, the Kivuian Navy is primarily tasked with the protection of Kivu's territorial waters and maritime infrastructure. Classified as a blue-water navy, the Kivuian Navy is capable of participating in global military amd peacekeeping operations, including humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and anti-piracy operations.
As of 2022, the Kivuian Navy consisted of 28,638 active personnel (including 8,414 enlisted reservists), 82 ships, and 110 aircraft. Eight naval bases are currently in use, seven of which are located in coastal Kivu, and one in NATION. Elements of Kivu's navy are stationed at bases in other countries as a part of Kivu's commitments to ACES, and other international organizations.
Ships commissioned by the Kivuian Navy are given the prefix KMS, which stands for Kivuian Marine Schiff, meaning Kivuian Marine Ship in Jackian.

History
The modern Kivuian Navy was formed by Kivu's new goverment in 1910 following the conclusion of the Kivuian Civil War, using remmant ships from the Kivuian Royal Navy, which operated from 1778 - 1907.
Structure
The Kivuian Navy is overseen by Naval Command (Marinekommando), which is located at NAVAL BASE, near Anderköste. The Naval Command is subordinate to the Armed Forces Command, and is commanded by the Chief of the Navy, who is a member of the Armed Forces Council.
Similar to it's army and air force counterparts, Naval Command is a force providing command that is responsible for the protection of Kivu's territorial waters and interests, maintaining and expanding the fleet's capabilities, the training of enlisted personnel and necessary support staff, and providing the Armed Forces Command with the personnel and equipment necessary to carry out combat operations around the globe. For international operations, command of the particpating units is usually transferred to either the Armed Forces Command or the command of an international military organzation (usually ACES) that Kivu is a member of. In rare cases, units have been placed under the command of an allied nation.
The Kivuian Naval Air Force (Marineluftwaffe) is subordinate to the Naval Command, and is tasked with the operation of the Kivuian Navy's aircraft. 4 of the naval bases located in Kivu, have associated airfields that are used by the Naval Air Force.
