Ackarem officially the State of Ackarem (Kivuian: Staat Ackarem), is a state in central Kivu bordering the states of Wulkanald, Auetal, Lohne, Vierbergen, Adalem, and Kampfhabuch. Wriedel is the state capital of Ackarem, as well as the largest city. Ackarem is the nineteenth-largest of Kivu’s twenty five staats, with an area of 41,901 square kilometres (16,178 sq mi), and the twelveth-most populous, with 2,204,818 inhabitants, as of 2020.
