The Kivuian Army is the main land warfare branch of the Kivuian Armed Forces. The modern Kivuian Army was founded by the new Republic of Kivu in 1907, after the conclusion of the Kivuian Civil War. Prior to 1907 the Kingdom of Kivu operated the Kivuian Royal Army from 1778 until the fall of the kingdom in 1906.

The Kivuian Army is commanded by the Chief of the Army, who's primary responsibility is overseeing Army Command. Like their equivalents in the Kivuian Navy and the Kivuian Air Force, the chief of the army is subordinate to the Chief of the Armed Forces, is a member of the Armed Forces Command, and sits on the Federal Military Council.
