Vierburgen officially the State of Vierburgen (Kivuian: Staat Vierburgen), is a province in central Kivu bordering the provinces of Adalem, Ackarem, Lohne, Weizheim, Gerstungen, and Jork. Thören is the state capital of Vierburgen, as well as the largest city. Vierburgen is the fourth-smallest of Kivu’s twenty five staats, with an area of 39,253 square kilometres (15,156 sq mi), and the seventeenth-most populous, with 39,253 inhabitants, as of 2020.
