The Baldr Asteroid (named after the god of light Baldr) was a superbolide that entered Terraconserva's atmosphere over the acernis ocean on the 13th of February about 5 PM. The object exploded in a meteor air burst between Norðurhöfði and Suðurhluta Cordilleran eldfjallahéraðsins, at a height of around 32.3 km. The explosion generated a bright flash, producing a hot cloud of dust and gas that penetrated to 27.6 km , and many surviving small fragmentary meteorites.

Discovery
The initial existence of the meteor was discovered on the 11th of February at late night about 10:48 PM by one of the multiple Observatories in Northern Reykanes. The only picture was made when it was just outside the moon's radius about 400 kilometers. It is believed that it originates from the Asteroid belt. The scientific community in Reykanes started to estimate the chances of the Asteroid hitting Terraconserva. They were shocked that the 100% of the simulations, they did resulted in, that it will hit near Nurderlia. They tested this out with others,same results. Soon after they notified the government about this discovery to plan out to minimize the risk of injury from this small asteroid.
The Impact
On the 13th of February about 5 PM. The object exploded in a meteor air burst between Norðurhöfði and Suðurhluta Cordilleran eldfjallahéraðsins, at the height of around 32.3 km with extreme speeds of 17.9 km/s. At 4:45 pm the Reykani government made the statements that all citizens should try to find shelter and stay at home but stay away from windows. Prior to this siren tests were conducted few days before. It was expected that it will hit on the 14th but a day earlier it struck and cought everyone guard. At 5 pm the sirens started to sound and everyone was advised to stay in shelters to not get injured. Many went to the road tunnels around Reykanes in hope to be sheltered from the asteorid fragements.
Aftermath
Damage and injuries
Over 2700 people were indirectly injured from shattering glass from the blast of the Asteroid's air burst. The intense light from the meteor, momentarily brighter than the Sun, also produced injuries, leading to over 243 cases of eye pain, and 23 people subsequently reported temporary flash blindness. Some even got sunburn due to the flash. The Air burst's blast damaged over 3000 buildings. Shattering glasses and even roof damage. Some fragments landed on houses and property. The bulk of the object's energy was absorbed by the atmosphere, creating a large shock wave with a total kinetic energy before atmospheric impact estimated from infrasound and seismic measurements to be equivalent to the blast yield of 400–550 kilotons of TNT (about 1.4–1.8 PJ) range. Soon the military were called in to help the injured and bring in supplies and aid from local areas to help such as food and water. Multiple military trucks came in to Hafnir and Leoborg and multiple small towns that were effected severely and set up small hospitals for those who cant access it or when the hospitals become full.
Impact area
The Asteroid fragent was found 3 days later on the 16th of February. It hit the Waters near Hafnir. The Reykani Navy was tasked to bring it up from the sea to be able to study it. The succesfully brought it up from the sea floor. Only small fragments survived. The biggest being 0.8 meters in diameter.
Meteorites
Many fragments of the Asteroid broke off and fell down to the ground in various locations even causing damage to buildings and roads. Most notable is the factory roof that was destroyed by such. The Fragment is about 0.5 meters in diameter, one of the first ones to be found. Soon later many other such fragments have been found and taken to the laboratories to examined.The broken fragments display a thick primary fusion crust with flow lines and a heavily shocked matrix with melt veins and planar fractures.
Reactions
Reykanes:Prime minister Jón Bjarnason reacted worryingly as this event has shocked everyone in Reykanes. He stated that we should start caring more whats up there as well as much whats down there. The peacefull life here in Reykanes has never been shocked so much in the 21st century. We should get more prepared for the future as this could happen again. Paleocacher: "The Paleocacherian government and people are appalled at the devastation wrought on the Reykani capital and surrounding areas by this devastating force of nature. Paleocacherian Search and Rescue and Red Cross volunteers are being flown to Reykanes and a Paleocacherian Naval survey vessel will help look for meteorite fragments for research purposes.
