The Saratovan Navy (Sarvakh: Саратован теңіз флоты ) is the principal oceanic warfare force of the Saratovan Armed Forces. As of 2023, the Saratovan Navy comprises of approximately 43,000 active personnel. The modern Saratovan Navy traces back to 1284 with the formation of rudimentary sailing ships to defend Saratovan merchants travelling around Ostlandet's coast. The Navy was crucial in defending from pirate attacks and preventing smugglers from entering Saratov and during The War of Princes, an event which led to the the complete unification of Saratov, with many rebelling houses losing their power, centralising it in the hands of the Tzar. Following the re-establishment of the Tzardom, the Saratovan Navy was expanded and given bases throughout the majority of coastal Saratov to further its growth.
The primary responsibilities of the Saratovan Navy are the protection of Saratov's borders, oceanic combat, and preserving law in Saratovan and international waters.. The Tzar of Saratov is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Saratovan Armed Forces. The High-Admiral of the Saratovan Navy is the chief commanding authority of the Saratovan Navy. He is appointed by the Tzar of Saratov or by the Saratovan Ministry of Defence and the main command of the Navy is based in Cehansk Naval Base. Saratov’s ability to field a large navy stems from national pride in the navy, meaning more budget is given to the navy for ship-building and due to all Saratovan citizens have to perform 2 years of compulsory service, many conscripts are handed off to the navy to staff new ships which are built frequently.
