The Robasdan Development Corporation (Cantuath: Corporra Leasachaidh Robasdan) is a Hapatmitasian multinational engineering, procurement, construction, and project management company. The company is headquartered at 20 Central Street in Peairtchu, Hapatmitas. Robasdan is the largest construction company by revenue and the second-largest engineering company by revenue in Hapatmitas. Notable Robasdan domestic projects include the Bairdrochaid Bridge, renovations at the Donideann Central Station and the Sturgeon National Tower, the Millenium Wheel, and renovations at Fordunblae International Airport. The current CEO of the company is Tamhas Morgan, who assumed the position in 2018.

History

The company was originally founded as the Companaidh Cùmhnant Robasdan (Robasdan Contracting Company) in 1969 in Giofnag, Hapatmitas, a city located within the Peairtchu metropolitan area, by Frank Artain. Artain founded the company after business and economic restrictions lifted by the Second Republic government. Robasdan originally started as a domestic contracting company around Peairtchu to construct and renovate civil and housing infrastructure. It evolved into an international contracting company, receiving its first national order to renovate the Central Station in Sturgeon in 1976. The company, in following years, became one of the largest companies that played a role in part of national infrastructure, especially in transport and housing.

As Hapatmitas grew towards closer international relations, the Hapatmitasian market expanded internationally. Robasdan expanded into the international market in 1984, changing its name to the Robasdan Development Company. During the next decades, the company slowly entered Ostlandet and Ecros. In 1989, it was listed on the SSE Annual Hapatmitas A-list. In 1993, Robasdan was named the largest construction company in Hapatmitas by revenue; it was subsequently named #2 among the largest engineering companies in Hapatmitas by revenue in 1996.

In the early 2000s, Robasdan began expanding substantially both organically and by acquisitions. Between 2002 and 2006, the company acquired two construction companies and two engineering companies. Upon the acquisition of these companies, Robasdan transitioned into project management contracting as well.

In 2011, Robasdan formally acquired one of its domestic rivals in Hapatmitas, Niocalsan Construction.

Operations

Robasdan formally divides its operations into four business streams:

  • Construction
  • Infrastructure development
  • Engineering
  • Project administration

These steams are further subdivided and administered accordingly depending on whether the branch belongs to domestic or international operations. Locally, Robasdan relies on branch units in company-designated regions to operate. Currently, in terms of combined domestic and international revenue, infrastructure development is the largest business stream, followed by construction. Public-private partnerships are usually negotiated regarding infrastructure development on public utilities. Housing infrastructure contracts are designated with private contracts.
