Sturgeon is a major city and the capital of the Hapatmitasian province of Rinnfriu. With a recorded population of 9,324,698 in July 2022, it is the most populous city in Hapatmitas and the 8th most-populous city in Ostlandet. The city nearly encompasses the entirety of the province of Rinnfriu, making it one of the largest cities by land area as well. Its metropolitan area has an urban agglomeration of nearly 12 million people, including suburban and unincorporated communities. The city is currently divided into 64 districts, all of which are currently represented on the Comhairle Sturgeon.

The city is situated on Braantummel Bay, one of the busiest trading hubs in Ostlandet; the Rinnfriu River also runs through the northern portion of the city. Sturgeon is renowned for its landmarks, including the historic Remeana Fountain which has been registered nationally as a Clovic preservation site. It is also renowned for its prestigious economic district located downtown and various cultural districts throughout the city - Sturgeon is home to thousands of small businesses concerning art, fashion, modern culture, and food. Combined with the cities of Cairnryan and Strantun, and suburban communities, the city forms the Sturgeon Metropolitan Region, the wealthiest region in Hapatmitas.
