Principality is a sans-serif typeface, which is used as the standard typeface by the Government of Kernev, variations are used for traffic signs and public transport signage.
The typeface was first adopted by the Government of Kernev in 2012, although it was already in use since 2011. A variation was brought into use by Gwandryas Riel and in road signage beginning in 2012.
The typeface was designed taking cues from Kernevic typographical heritage, to accentuate unique Kernevic characteristics. The typeface includes a number of digraphs used in the Iberic script writing of Kernevic, including dh, ll, ch and th. The typeface has received praise from disabilities pressure groups for its accessibility, with the digraphs in particular providing more clear distinction between the letters of the Kernevic alphabet. The script includes both Kernevic and Iberic characters, reflecting the bilingual needs of the Kernevic government.
