Political Career
Cohen was elected by a landslide in both terms and had high approval ratings. It was a shock when he declined to run for a second term. A founding member of the Traditionalist Party, he left in 2057 claiming he wanted to be "identified as an independent thinker as all dignified men should desire."

Personal Life
After retiring from politics, Cohen founded and served as the first President of Levi Shamir University in Paletaph, Icaris. In his reitred life, Cohen often critcizes career politicians (considering himself one) and the corrupt nature of politics. In an interview in 2063 he said, "Politics has become corrupt...and I don't mean the political activity or the polis - the conversation and debate of policy - but the political office, the institution. The Council and the Ministry which have extended beyond service and a forum for debate and legisature, but as a vehicle for profit, whether that's an election win, power and influence, or wealth."
Cohen has been married twice and had three children. He originally was married in 2007 and had a daughter, Maia (b. 2008) which both were victims of the nuclear strike on Migaza City, Migaza in 2015. Cohen remarried in 2020 and has two boys with his second marriage. Raymond "Ray" Cohen (b. 2022) is an Icarisian Air Force intelligence officer and Donald "Donnie" Cohen (b. 2025) works as an investment banker and financial manger for Levi Shamir University. Both of his sons have reportegly sworn they would never become a politician.
Despite his "retirement" from politics in 2058, Cohen actively protested President Araújo's administration in 2061-2062. He was eventually jailed alongside Santiago Franco. Cohen, after being released made posted a statement on social media saying "Yes, I am still reitred from politics. But this is not politics. This is a constitutional crisis in which a duly elected man has robbed Icarisians of justice, due-process, and their guarenteed civil liberties. Unify and Perservere."
Cohen is a devout member of the Nanti faith.
