Mpande kaSenzangakhona is the current Emperor of Kwazulu and Ciskei and the head of the House of Hlangene royal family. He was born in Gcuwa on 29 April 1959 and was crowned in 1999 inside the Osuthu Royal Palace for both halfs of the monarchy.
