The Ilhavelha Cartel (Gaúcho: Cartel de Ilhavelha, CDI), also known as the "Chencho" Macedo Organization, the Island Cartel, the Princes or the Surian Cartel, is a Montcrabin international organized crime syndicate based in Ilhavelha which is headed by Nelson Salvador Macedo ("O Chencho"), one of the world's most-wanted drug lords. The organization specializes in illegal drug trafficking and money laundering, and was founded during the early 1990s by Macedo following the collapse of the Torosa Cartel. The cartel primarily operates in the Montcrabin districts of Anchunha, Fregente, Abassia, and Ilhavelha, though has been known to carry out operations in many world regions, as well as cities across the Surian continent. The CDI has been characterized for its use of, often improvised, military equipment and technology in their operations, including public relations campaigns through the internet.
