The Icarisian Broadcasting Corporation was founded as the Paletaph News Agency in 2021 as the largest and sole media deliverer of the nation of Icaris. IBC has grown into a national, government-subsidized brand, synonymous with news reporting and news broadcasting in Icaris. Due to Icaris' laws on business regulation and ensuring quality of service and consumer protection, IBC has been heavily favored in the broadcasting and news market and have a monopoly in that sector. In 2047, IBC CFO RJ Lark co-founded the Icarisian Media Group with his father, a parent company that expanded its interest in entertainment and other outlets of media projects beyond news reporting. RJ Lark serves as IMG's President and his father serves as Executive Chairman of IMG.

When IBC was founded as the Paletaph News Agency they were a print media forum. Within the year, Lark invested in launching several television channels and two radio broadcasting stations. The original IBC television channels were Paletaph National News (PNN),
