The Hawker-Class, or F-100 class, is a class of Aegis combat system-equipped air defence frigates in service with the Kivuian Navy. The vessels were built by Kivuian ship manufacturer Bluefront Inc., with the lead ship being the KNS X. The original contract for the five ships was worth $6.1 billion marks.
In 2016, the X and the Y, were sold to the Akvarelian Coast Guard, to make way for the new X-class frigates from Jackson.
Design
The Hawker-Class frigates were intended as a replacement for the aging X-class frigates, with a primary focus on anti-submarine warfare (ASW). Eventually, the need for a robust anti-aircraft defense as well as the incorporation of the Naval Strike Missile surface-to-surface missile led to a more multi-role design.
Ships in the Class
Six ships were originally planned, but two were cancelled as a cost saving measure. A fifth ship was later added as the X (It has some improvements compared to the rest of the frigates of its class).
