Gawonii Atohi Tooantuh (Sequoyan: ᎦᏬᏂᎢ ᎠᏙᎯ ᏙᎣᎠᎾᏚᎱ; born 22 May 1973) is a Sequoyan military officer and politician who is the governor-elect of Western Sequoyah.
Early life
Gawonii Atohi Tooantuh was born on 22 May 1973 in Kalgaduv, Sequoyah.
Political career
On 8 December 2022, Provisional President Atohi Dustu promoted Tooantuh to the rank of lieutenant colonel and appointed him as minister of finance. Tooantuh served until 20 April 2022.
During the 2024 Western Sequoyah gubernatorial election, Tooantuh ran for governor as a member of the National Reconstruction Party. He defeated Democratic Party opponent Ahuli Ahuyala with 50.63 percent of the vote.[1]
