Cirilo Sousa served as Viceroy of Ilírica from 1719 to 1725 after a long political career in the Viceroyalty of Ilírica and his native Montcrabe. Cirilo continued policies of heavy reliance on Montcrabe within Ilírica, and also moved Ilírica towards a much larger global trade position, exploring the nation's population and natural resources.
