Altanövs (Uulgadzan: Алтанөвс) is the capital and most populous city in the Uulgadzar province of Alama. Its population as of the 2020 census was 48,304. The town was founded in 1882 as a farming village away from the growing city of Uulhot. In 1923, it was assigned as the center of the Alama sector of the urbanization initiative under the communist government. Over 30,000 people were moved into Altanövs between 1923 and 1950 when the initiative ended. The city experienced a spike in growth in 2014 when the Uulgadzar Football Center was constructed in the city.
