The 2020 Bostonia Attack, or the 2020 Bostonia International Airport Attack, was a major terrorist attack carried out by the Morovan Revolutionary Army on 3 and 4 April 2020 with stolen aircraft. The attack was the first attack by a foreign state on Quebecshirite soil by a foreign entity in nearly five-hundred years. The attack left 294 people dead and 548 people injured, with many of them being foreign nationals.

Prelude

Towards the end of the 2019–20 Morovan Crisis, Alyosha Karamazov was convicted of several international crimes by the Terraconserva Council of Nations. As a result of this, there was a fractured political situation in Morova between Ishida Tandi, Zionian rebels, and those remaining loyal to Karamazov. After Karamazov was sentenced to death during his trial, it is believed that the Morovan Revolutionary Army was formed and intended to attempt to break him out of a Quebecshirite prison where he was being held in Bostonia.

The newly formed Morovan Revolutionary Army then stole several H-4 Hercules aircraft from the Kieva. The planes departed without the notice of Tandi's authorities and flew towards Quebecshire. The Bostonia Fleet noticed their presence and requested their identification, at which point the planes fraudulently claimed they were from Groffenord. Perceiving this as unlikely, the fleet directed them to land at the airport and launched fighters to ensure they did so. Realizing the situation, the airport began evacuating and the National Guard and Intelligence Directorate of Quebecshire began securing the area around the planes which had landed.

Attack

After being forced to land, the four-hundred soldiers of the Morovan Revolutionary Army opened fire on the National Guard and Intelligence Directorate of Quebecshire at the airport, putting any civilians not yet evacuated at severe risk. Due to numbers and generally superior weaponry, the Quebecshirite forces were able to subdue the Morovans and demand a surrender. Tandi also published a condemnation of the attack. As the attack died down, it was reported that of the four-hundred Morovans sent, 258 were killed and 142 were injured.

Aftermath

Despite the efforts of the Morovan Revolutionary Army to free him, Karamazov was executed in prison shortly after the attack. The assailants not killed in the attack were arrested and transferred to a military prison in western Bostonia. As a result of the damages sustained by Quebecshire, the government demanded 667,500,000 Credits as compensation for the altercation, sending the request to Tandi, the primary Morovan authority at the time. Tandi rejected the reparations, implying that there was no desire to send them and that it was infeasible regardless. In retaliation to this, the High Council and Parliament of Quebecshire declared war for the first time in centuries. These incidents ultimately played a role in the Destruction of Morova and the passage of TCN Resolution 016, effectively ending the Morovan Crisis.

Memorials and commemorations

On 3 April 2021, crowd of around 10,000 Quebecshirites in Puerto Francisco gathered by a statue of Félix Vernier in the center of the city in memory of the 176 Quebecshirites killed in the attack. It was one of the largest gathering of Quebecshirites in the city since the events of Franciscan Summer of 2003–05. The Creeperian government officially inaugurated a memorial in the Valley of the Fallen in memorial of the 43 Creeperans killed in the attack. Each one of them was given a burial service at the memorial.
