The War of the Andaluzian Sea was a two month war between the Empire of Jackson and New Illyricum based mostly around political and military control of the Andaluzian Sea. The war only contained one major battle, the First Battle of the Claufenese Sea, which was, and is still, the largest naval battle ever fought in Andaluzian waters.

Prelude

In January 1915, tensions began to arise between New Illyricum and the Empire of Jackson after Illyrian ships began entering Jackian sea lanes, threatening Jackson's foreign interests. Anger began to rise between both leaders after a Jackian cruiser fired several shots on an Illyrian patrol boat, claiming it thought the Illyrian ship was a pirate ship, a sight not to uncommon in the Andaluzian Sea at that time. On June 7, 1915, an Illyrian submarine blew up a Jackian troop and munitions carrier heading to Niao Dao. Grand Marshall Publianinus Marcellus claimed the submarine had gone rogue, however Jackian X X refused to listen to it and declared war two days later.

Opening Combats

In the first few weeks of the war, due to it's smaller size and superior mobilization planning, New Illyrian ships were able to quickly get out to sea and begin to prey on Jackian shipping lanes and vessels. The first official combat of the war took place off the coast of Terranihil, within 50 miles of Dastivus, where three Illyrian submarines ambushed two Jackian cruisers and a munitions ship and sank them all with no recorded losses on their own side. Illyrian submarines and cruisers continued to pray on Jackian shipping in the early weeks of the war, however according to government communiques in mid june, Jackian Admiral X believed that once they could mobilize their navy fully they would be able to defeat the Illyrian navy due to their larger size and more experience.
