Sturgeon, officially the Metropolis of Sturgeon, is the capital city of the Hapatmitasian province of Rinnfriu, and a major city. With a recorded population of 9,324,698 in July 2022, it is the most populous city in Hapatmitas and one of the most populous in Ostlandet. Its metropolitan area has an urban agglomeration of nearly 12 million people, including suburban and unincorporated communities. The city, with the status of a metropolis, is currently divided into 64 districts, all of which are currently represented on the Comhairle Sturgeon.

The city is situated on Metropolis Bay, one of the busiest trading hubs in Ostlandet. Sturgeon is renowned for its landmarks, including the historic Remeana Fountain which has been registered nationally as a Clovic preservation site. It is also renowned for Blythwood District, a popular cultural and economic district in Hapatmitas, and Clydeglenn District, a new corporate district. Blythwood is also home to several rising engineering, pharmaceutical, technological, and banking companies in the country and Ostlandet. Sturgeon is also home to thousands of small businesses in regard to art, fashion, modern culture, and food. Combined with the cities of Cairnryan and Strantun, and suburban communities, the city forms the Greater Sturgeon metropolitan area, the wealthiest region in Hapatmitas.

The city was first settled in 1489 AD, during the period of migration of hundreds of ethnic groups. The community was generally ungoverned, rather adopting a direct democratic system run by the villagers. The village's strategic importance to fishing on Metropolis Bay saw many states attempt to annex it for themselves. In 1686, when Hapatmitas declared their sovereignty, the city, formally called Winnfiniu at the time, became under subjugated control of Hapat war chiefs, who saw their attempts to seep out resources of the region to be directed towards Steòrnabhagh unsuccessful. In 1719, under a consolidated political system in Hapatmitas, Winnfiniu was consolidated as an official city of Hapatmitas. Winnfiniu was later renamed Sturgeon in 1910 in honor of the then-ruling house of Hapatmitas.
