Etymology
The original settlers of Sturgeon were migrants from Paleocacher, eventually being assimilated by Hapatmitas. The settlement's name was originally St. Duncan, after the former patron saint of Hapatmitas. However, after the deposition of the House of Alpin, the Sturgeons were installed on the throne. The democratic government voted to rename the city into Dùn Sturgeon, from the city citadel named after the bloodline. In 1942, the local government, with federal approval, simplified the city's name to Sturgeon. Despite the Odinburgh Revolution, the government opted to remain with the Sturgeon namesake, noting that the family had replaced their cruel predecessors. The bay where Sturgeon currently sits is still named after Saint Duncan, noting that there is a mass population of Duncanist Clovic believers in the city.
