The Server Moderation Team, formerly called the Server Police Force and abbreviated SMT, is the law enforcement agency of The League of Conservative Nations. The Server Moderation Team (SMT) is an extra-governmental institution managed by the Office of the Consulate as regional administrators to serve the region and its populace as moderation on the relevant platforms, as well as to maintain order in the Republic of The League of Conservative Nations within the regional law and rules, as laid out here as best as possible. The Server Moderation Team is made up of equal members, excluding the Chief of the League's Police and their chosen Deputy (if he chooses to have one), whose title mandates them to manage when necessary if the Chief of the League's Police is not currently present for any excused reason. The Chief of the League's Police is responsible for overseeing the remaining officers and doing the general duties laid out for him. The Captain of the SMT is a position especially created to manage channels related to the Monarchist and Democratic Alliance.

The Server Police Force was formed in August 2018 to enforce server rules. Its name was changed to the Server Moderation Team in June 2019.

Rules of conduct
This is the conduct guide of members of the League’s Police Force, drafted by the Consulate and approved by the Chief of the League’s Police Force.
- The League’s Police Force is a department mandated by the Consulate’s Constitutional authority and is therefore expected to report to the Consulate and abide by their stipulations.
- The Chief of the League’s Police Force is the highest ranking member of the SMT and is the chief moderator of the server, all standard officers report to him and abide by stipulations within his authority.
- The Deputy of the League’s Police Force is a standard officer in the presence of the Chief of the SMT. If the Chief of the SMT is not available then the Deputy shall be recognized by the Consulate as the highest ranking member of the SMT and therefore chief moderator until the Chief of the SMT is available again.
- Always provide at minimum the server rule which is being invoked when giving a user a warning or mute.
- Further elaboration that does not republish the rulebreaking content is ideal but the statement of the rule involved is mandatory.
- Do not argue with individuals over warnings in #police-reports. Appeals are to be handled by the Consulate.
- Behave professionally in #police-reports.
- These conduct expectations can be edited as deemed necessary.
Warning protocols
- Provide a bot warning for any rulebreaking content published by a user.
- SMT officers are expected to mute a user upon the second infraction in a day. In the event of the rulebreaking appearing known and deliberate, a mute may be delivered on the first infraction. The first mute in a day given by an officer should be 30 minutes and doubled for each following necessary mute.
- Follow special protocols over standard protocol for any users that have been placed on one.
- Note: The Consulate reserves the authority to issue mutes or actions deviating from the standard protocol as they are the oversight administration. Actions by a Consul may be subject to review by the broader institution of the Consulate.
NS and RMB
The Server Moderation Team is responsible for the enforcement of domestic laws in The League of Conservative Nations. While only the Chief of the SMT or certain officers may be granted regional permissions, all officers are endowed with the authority to issue warnings. A formal SMT warning is considered an official warning. The SMT is to enforce the rules and laws of the League on its main platform, the Regional Message Board. All residents, citizens, and outsiders are expected to understand and respect this authority, even if they disagree. Any issues with the conduct of the SMT may be taken to a Consul of the Republic.
Discord rules
The Server Rules, mandated and enforced by the Office of the Consulate as server administrators and the Server Moderation Team as the server moderators, will be posted here for ease of access.
This is a server largely composed of minors for a simulation game. These rules are expected to be followed to maintain what has been and continues to be a safe community and environment. In the context of Discord Server Rules Moderator/Moderation refers to the SMT and its members, and Administrator/Administration refers to the Consulate.
- Server Police have the authority to enforce these rules at their discretion when they feel it is best for the discord server, the users, and the region at large. They are accountable to the Consulate and by extension the people when they exercise this mandated authority.
- Rules function as intended.
- Rules may apply differently between text and voice channels. This is up to Consular/SMT discretion.
- Server Police actions are definite, if you have any further issue with it you can contact a Consul. However, arguing with them over it in the moment is a waste of time.
- The #police-reports channel is not for debating moderators or administrators regarding punishments or rule interpretations. It is for concisely making reports or appeals. Further discussion of alleged moderation error or misconduct should be respectfully taken to #capitol.
- If you are filing an appeal, this is the proper way to do so >appeal caseID# reason. Condense all of your reasoning and evidence in the command and do not argue further, wait for a Consul to respond.
- These rules apply to all members of the Discord Server.
- The speed at which punishments are applied to you may depend on your status in regards to the region, specifically between Citizen, Stayer, Diplomat, and Visitor.
- NSFW content is not allowed. If you are unsure if your content is NSFW, you are simply advised not to post it. If you want to, contact a member of the Server Police regarding it, however, you accept a risk of punishment for ambiguous content.
- Use channels appropriately.
- No spamming outside of the #meme-spam channel.
- Do not use bot commands outside of #bot-commands unless the bot command is only feasible to be in that channel. This is up to Consular/SMT discretion.
- Professionalism/respectful behavior is expected within government channels. This is up to Consular/SMT discretion. See Rule 9 as well.
- Don’t harass, flame, or flamebait fellow members of the server.
- Those who feel as if they have been harassed or mistreated and do not believe it has been sufficiently addressed should consult #police-reports and tag the @Consul of the Republic role, or, if they feel that would incur more harassment, privately DM the Consuls.
- Heated arguments and general insults on their own are not flaming. Repeated abusive language intended towards another member is. This is to moderator discretion.
- Flamebaiting is defined as using language designed to deliberately coax another user into a heated or emotional response to start a flamewar. This is to moderator discretion.
- If what you are posting could poorly reflect on our community and region (or any region or group you represent), or cause unintended consequences, reconsider if it’s helpful or necessary (basically, be mindful of your actions). This is up to Consular/SMT discretion.
- By making potentially offensive comments, you accept the liability that the recipients of said comments may perceive them to be hateful or discriminatory and thus entitle you to consequences.
- Comments perceived to be hateful or discriminatory by SMT officers should be handled as rule violations and left for any further handling by the Consulate.
- This rule does not exclusively apply to hateful or discriminatory content.
- Private organizations within the LCN may define rules for their channels and categories in addition to those already provided by the server. These rules are inferior to server rules and may not contradict them, nor the rights of members of the server and the region.
- Abuse of, or misconduct within State/Government related channels and resources may result in restriction of access or similar consequences.
- All applicable LCN laws must be followed by all members of this server.
- Do not post sensitive information to the LCN in inappropriate channels.
- Do not disseminate any personal information for which you have not been given explicit permission to disseminate. This applies to any method of dissemination. Punishment severity depends on the information in question and the spread thereof, and any other relevant factors.
- These rules can be edited as deemed necessary.
Discord entry and customs alert system
The Alert System is a method for the Server Moderation Team Customs Division to be aware of what is expected for new entry into the Discord Server. It may be altered by the Consulate or by the Chief of the SMT upon request to the Consulate.
- Alert System Level Green
- Business on the Discord Server is functioning as normal. Exercise a normal use of caution, there is no perceived threat to the server, region, and there is no extensive violation of the Server Rules currently occurring. Follow standard protocol for the handling of any problems, as explained.
- Under Alert System Level Green Protocol, entry into the Discord server by new members must be approved by at least one Consul of the Republic.
- Alert System Level Orange
- There is an elevated amount of caution that is to be exercised. Follow Alert System Level Orange Protocol for any handling of rule violations or any issues. This is typically established when there is a moderate amount of instability occurring or during the fallout or aftermath of the aforementioned.
- Under Alert System Level Orange Protocol, entry into the Discord server by new members must be approved by at least two Consuls of the Republic.
- Alert System Level Red
- There is a very immense degree of caution that should be exercised. The region is either in a state of wartime or there is a direct threat present. Follow Alert System Level Red Protocol for the handling of any issues. All issues are to be handled swiftly due to the high likelihood of incursions being made against the region and/or server.
- Under Alert System Level Red Protocol, entry into the Discord server by new members must be approved by all three Consuls of the Republic.
Customs responsibilities
A specific group of officers within the Server Moderation Team will be designated as Customs Officers. This will not give them any authority that they did not already have within SMT but they will hold the responsibility of settling new members into the Discord Server. When a new member joins the Discord Server the Customs Officers will be responsible for asking them to state their name and purpose on the server before giving them the proper roles.
Bot warning notice
The Server Moderation Team may give out warnings by using the designated bot on the server. In the event of the latter, the bot automatically records each warning under that person. If one goes one week without any infraction, they may contact a Consul of the Republic and the Chief of the League's Police to have the bot warn record cleared for them.
