The Nationalists of the civil war were strongly supported by the Creeperian government, which sought to overthrow the communist Ajaki government due to their support of the communist National Council for Peace and Order during the Creeperian Civil War of 1933 to 1949. Many Creeperian exiles who fought for the National Council were living in Ajakanistan, and the Creeperian government wanted to capture and execute them on charges of treason and sedition.
The Creeperian government sent funding and weapons to the Nationalists throughout the war, and especially helped them during their initial revolution against the government in 1966. The Creeperian government additionally sent the White Eagle Legion (LAB), a uint of the Creeperian Air Force established for the purpose of assisting the Nationalists in the civil war. The legion consisted of a total of 50 Maroto Botín MB-20 fighter/attack jets, 30 Maroto Botín MB-21 fighter/attack jets, 40 Maroto Botín MB-8E strategic bombers, and 15 Maroto Botín MB-9T tactical bombers.
