The Sûreté du Québecshire, abbreviated SQ, is the national civilian and domestic policing agency in Quebecshire. No official name exists in any other languages, but it is commonly referred to as the "Quebecshirite National Police" in foreign contexts and the "National Police" in Quebecshire. The headquarters of the Sûreté du Québec are located in Quebecshire City and the service employs roughly 502,000 officers across thousands of departments organized by municipality. The Sûreté du Québecshire has jurisdiction over Quebecshire, but has also at times been involved in Port François law enforcement as part of larger agreements with Creeperopolis, due to the sensitive nature of the city to Quebecshire. Due to its vast size and organization into sub-departments, many have compared the institution of the SQ itself to being a larger government beauracracy that delegates and oversees the more devolved police forces.
