The Sértilga is the Reykani Defence's special forces unit. The unit is based in Hafnir and is known to have a manpower of 20 operators, formed in 1949. It is the first and only in Reykanes and one of the smallest commando unit in the world. The unit specialises in counter-terrorism, counterinsurgency, direct action, special reconnaissance, unconventional warfare and hostage rescue. The unit is trained to operate independently from the rest of army.
History
The name Sértilga is a syllabic abbreviation of the word sérstökum tilgangi, which means "special purpose" in Jackian.
