Raghnall the alligator was a house pet dumped in a public lake called Loch Linnhe in the capital city of [[Gardena]] in [[Paleocacher]]. He became nationally known after extensive news coverage and dozens of sightings of him living in the lake for 14 months between June and August of 2009. In late August of 2009 he was captured by chance when an animal control officer spotted him basking on a boulder next to one of the lake's more popular footpaths. The president of the time,  Caointiarn Nic Craobhaigh, took a liking to the animal and had an enclosure built for him on the grounds of the Presidential Residence. Raghnall is reportedly well domesticated and accustomed to people and can sometimes be seen taking leisurely strolls around the garden at the Presidential Residence in the company of his keeper. Reportedly, the current President, [[James Fulkerson]] has also taken a significant liking to Raghnall and he has been seen walking with the gator around the Presidential Residence's porch and veranda.
