Quinctilius Publius Varus (160BC – c. September 110BC) was a Romanyan general during the period of Romanyan Expansion.
Biography
Quinctilius Varus was born in the Romanyan province of Hispania in 160BC. He joined the Romanyan Army when he turned 21 in 139BC.
In 110BC, he was ordered by Lucius Paullus, the governor of Arcadia, to march south and to conquer new territories for the province. He was joined by Marcus Caelius and Servilius Geminus on the expedition south. In September 100BC, they were ambushed by militias of the Creeperian Confederation lead by Chepīn I and were decisively defeated. Varus died during the battle, either in action or by being executed, but most historians believed he was executed.
