The Monsilvan Air Force is the aerial warfare branch of the Monsilvan Armed Forces. The original Monsilvan Air Force, the Royal Air Force, was founded in 1920 in the Kingdom of Monsilva by the government of Mao Yanlin. After the establishment of the Monsilvan Republic in 1978, the air force was re-organized and renamed to the Monsilvan Air Force. The primary mission of the air force is the defense of Monsilvan airspace. Priorities include surveillance and long range reconnaissance. Due to Monsilva's mostly defensive military policy, its main focuses are on developing efficient counter-attack and defensive measures as well as hardening airfields and other facilities in order to survive surprise attacks.
