Laugleós 4000 series is a screw-driven amphibious craft manufactured in Reykanes by Utanvegar Hf. since 1988. First prototype was created in 1986 and shown off in 1987 and a year later it started production.

The vehicle is mainly used by the Reykanes fire brigade (Slökkviliðið Reykjanes) for search and rescue operations in the northern regions, where ordinary vehicles can't reach.
