The KMK 546 is a select fire rifle produced by the Kerenko Arms Corporation between 1987 and 2005 for the Saratovan Army and Minsec Internal Forces. A large quantity of the weapons ended up in the hands of the Novatyian People's Soviet Republic and were sold to New Illyricum in the 1992 Novatyian-New Illyrian Arms Sale. After is discontinuation in 2005 most were converted into semi-automatic carbines and sold to the civilian market nationally and globally to pay for production of the new Kerenko MK08 rifle, which was taking the place of the KMK in service in Special Forces and Ministry of Security, this action has received much backlash as it gave criminals and paramilitaries easy access to modern rifles and many rifles were converted shoddily, allowing for many semi-automatic rifles and carbines to be reconverted into full-auto assault rifles.
