Gerstungen officially the State of Gerstungen (Kivuian: Staat Gerstungen), is a province in central Kivu bordering the provinces of Neuerstaat, York, Vierbergen, Weizheim, Welzen, and Düsuntberg. Drakenberg is the state capital of Gerstungen, as well as the largest city. Gerstungen is the eighteenth-largest of Kivu’s twenty five staats, with an area of 44,103 square kilometres (17,028 sq mi), and the sixteenth-most populous, with 1,736,991 inhabitants, as of 2020.
