The Federal Army (Eleutherian: ομοσπονδιακός στρατός), is the land component of the Federal Forces of Eleutherios and comprises approximately 15,000 active personnel. The Federal Army traces its roots to the light infantry militia units raised by each province. However, these units were unreliable and could only be used within the provinces themselves. The federal government created its first full time infantry unit following the Battle of Corinth, where a force of volunteers defeated a Romanyan force in 627. During the Pax Eleutheria era, the foundations of the Federal Army were established with the federalization of the Kataphraktoi cavalry and raising of more full-time infantry forces. Today, the Federal Army is a well-trained, well-equipped, and motivated force consisting of modern weapons and vehicles. Despite its small size, advancements in tactics and technology have promoted the Federal Army to be one of the best in Ecros.

Conscription
Conscription is active in Eleutherios. Conscripts serve in the 5th (Reserve) Regiment, which is made up of 3 localized battalions accounting for the 3 provinces within Eleutherios. Conscripts serve a term of one active year, and 2 reserve years, for a total of 3 years. Afterwards, personnel are liable for mobilization in the event of a national emergency until the age of 50. Conscripts retain their issued equipment until this time. Per federal laws, conscripts may not be deployed outside of federal borders, but may be used in a defensive capability or in a humanitarian crisis.
Structure
The Federal Army consists of Army Command and the following 5 regiments, each with 2 battalions of the assigned classification:
- 1st Kataphraktoi Regiment: Equipped with tanks, this is the heaviest regiment in the Federal Army. The regiment gets its name from the elite Kataphraktoi heavy cavalry, which the regiment traces its lineage from.
- 2nd Regiment: Equipped with infantry fighting vehicles.
- 3th Regiment: Equipped with armored personnel carriers.
- 4th Regiment: Equipped with rocket artillery and self-propelled mortars.
- 5th (Reserve) Regiment: 3 light infantry battalions, made up of conscripts with professional NCOs and Officers.
Support battalions of combat engineers, medical personnel, signals, logistics, and air defense are under Army Command. None of these units are deployable by themselves, but are instead used to create Regimental Task Forces (RTF). A task force consists of a parent regiment, keeping the headquarters and one battalion, an attached battalion of a different type, attached artillery assets, and attached support units to create an effective, combined arms force. These RTFs are named after the unit commander and may also recieve attachments from other branches, such as combat air controllers from the Air Corps. An example RTF would consist of the headquarters and one battalion of infantry fighting vehicles, an attatched tank battalion, two batteries of rocket artillery and self-propelled mortars each, and support platoons from Army Command. This task force would then be considered self-sufficient and deployable. In certain circumstances, a third battalion or company can be attached from another unit to serve as a reserve or rear-area security force. This third element would typically come from the 3rd Regiment, as its armored personnel carriers are not as well suited to combat but are more apt to deal with small scale insurgencies in the rear of a formation.
Alongside the regular army regiments, a special battalion of helicopter-borne light infantry exists, called the Kynigos (Hunter) Battalion. This force traces its lineage to the light cavalry forces of early Eleutherios who tracked, harassed, and skirmished with enemy forces, both from horseback and on foot.
