Fabrique Nationale Herstal (Quebecshirite for National Factory Herstal), known as FN Herstal or FN, is an Eleutherian arms manufacturer and one of the largest exporters for both civilian and military firearms worldwide. FN Herstal was founded by a Quebecshirite, Leon Herstal, in a factory in Oikios in 1753 to attempt to win a government arms contract. He was successful, and FN Herstal became the sole provider of Eleutherian arms as well as arms for the militaries of many other countries.
