The Domul de Fier is a Pavulturilori Mediun-range SAM/ABM system designed to intercept aircraft UAVs, UCAVs and "dumb" ammunition such as rockets.
Contents
Background
During the Judea Crisis in 2006, Sconia, under the rule of Ali Al-Nour launched hundreads of missiles and thousands of rockets at Pavulturilor, while most of the missiles were intercepted by the Stratigic Air Defence Forces, most rockets got through and to Pavulturilori cities, where they caused the death of 451 civilians.
Following the end of the war, the Defence Court announced a contract for an anti-rocket system in early 2007.
after several years of testing, in 2010, the Domul de Fier system won the contract and began to be integrated into the Stratigic Air Defence Forces.
Spesifications
The system is designed to counter large artilery shells and short to medium range rockets, but can also intercept hostile aircraft.
Domul de Fier has 3 centeral compounants:
- Detection & Tracking Radar.
- Battle Managment and Weapon Control station.
- Missile Firing Unit: the unit fires the Înalt interceptor missile, which is equipped with elctro-optical sensors and several stirring fins for high manuverability. A typical battary contains 4 Missile firing units and one Battle managment and Weapon control station.

Currently, there are 5 battalions of the Stratigic Missile Force that operate the Domul de Fier system, those are:
- Battalion 137 - responsible for defending the Dăbuza and Strechia Commissariates.
- Battalion 231 - responsible for defending the Călăneasa Commissariate.
- Battalion 233 - responsible for defending the Zamănești Commissariate.
- Battalion 331 - responsible for defending the Zărnecuta Commissariate.
- Battalion 333 - responsible for defending the Dubătemir Commissariate.
