1963 Ecros Championship
1963 Ecros Meistaramótið í Fótbolta (in Reykani) Championnat d'Ecros de football 1963 (in Quebecshirite)
The 1963 Ecros Football Championship was the fourth edition of the LFE Ecros Championship. The contest was the first to be held across two nations, owing to the lack of capacity in Reykanes; Group 2 was hosted in Reykanes and Group 1 and the knockouts were hosted in Quebecshire. It was won by Quebecshire 3–0 over Tirol in Quebecshire City. The defending champions were Tirol.
The 1963 tournament was the first to be contested by 10 nations, which would remain the size of the tournament until the Morovan War and the suspension of the Morova Football Association from the LFE. The tournament was the debut of the Morova, Groffenord, Lyoa and IKANIA national football teams.
On 4 January 1959, following a decision made by the LFE Executive Committee, the two leading bids, Quebecshire and Reykanes, agreed upon a compromise under which Reykanes would host part of the tournament and Quebecshire the remainder, including the knockouts.
The teams finishing in the four top positions progressed to the semi-finals, while the bottom two teams were eliminated from the tournament.
Tiebreakers
For the league stage of this tournament, where two or more teams tied on an equal number of points, the finishing positions were determined by the following tie-breaking criteria in the following order:
number of points obtained in the matches among the teams in question
goal difference in all league matches
goals scored in all league matches
drawing of lots
If two teams tied on points, goal difference and goals played against each other in their final league match and no other team finishes with the same points; in which case the tie is broken by a replay on the following day.
