New Fernia (born 15 February 2019), also known as Waffledogefern, is a politician in The League and the South Pacific. He currently serves as a Council Delegate in The League and as a Legislator in the South Pacific. New Fernia joined NationStates on 15 February 2019 in The Pacific, and has since held various political offices in the South Pacific and Warzone Airspace. In addition, New Fernia has been active in the regions of The Hole to Hide In and The Social Liberal Union.
New Fernia began his political career in the South Pacific as a Legislator, being accepted into the Assembly of the South Pacific on 4 December 2020. He contributed on various pieces of legislation until 21 October 2021, when he became Minister of Culture after defeating Minskiev in the preceding election. He served one full term, stepping down from the office on 17 February 2022. He did not run for office again until 16 October 2022, when he was elected to the position of Minister of Engagement of the South Pacific. He resigned one month later on 16 November when facing a recall campaign due to accusations of dereliction of duty. He remained a Legislator in the South Pacific until 22 October 2023, when his membership in the Assembly lapsed. He re-applied for Legislatorship and was granted the position again on 5 April 2024.
New Fernia has also attempted takeovers of Warzone Airspace several times. The first attempt occurred on 5 November 2021 after a raid left the region's delegate position vacant. He seized the opportunity to become World Assembly Delegate and created a new government, appointing himself as Sky-Lord, the highest position of the region. The government persisted until 9 January 2022, when it collapsed due to a lack of native support. New Fernia once again attempted to take the region in association with Krovx and Serdequre on 26 October 2022. This attempt, like the previous, succeeded, and Krovx was appointed as Sky-Lord. Krovx stepped down as Sky-Lord on 1 April 2023 and New Fernia took his place as Sky-Lord the following day. The government persisted until 24 May 2023 until it once again collapsed due to a lack of native support.
New Fernia has been active militarily in the South Pacific Special Forces and the League's Defense Forces. In addition, he participated in defensive operations with the government of Warzone Airspace during raids on the region. He participated in Operation Red October with the League's Defense Forces.
