The Claufenese Sea is one of 6 major seas in the Andaluzian Sea. It borders the straights of Apollonia and Dastivus and contains part of the island nation of Abersiania. In September 2023 it was the site of the Second Battle of the Claufenese Sea, the only major engagement in the Aberso–Illyrian War.
Etymology of the Claufenese Sea
The Claufenese Sea gets its name from the second biggest city in Abersiania, Claufen, which is also home to the second biggest port in Abersiania. Busy trading routes and a strong tendency for rough, stormy weathers the City and sea around it gained the name Claufen, which originates from the Old Abersianian word 'Clauf' which means rough or bumpy.
