The Montesayettean Army (Quebecshirite: Armée Montesayette) is the land service branch of the Montesayettean Defense Forces. It is the oldest and most senior branch of the Montesayettean security forces in order of precedence. The Montesayettean Army is commanded by the Inspector of the Army, based at the Army Command in Sayette Mountain Complex near the town of Ornans, who is a subordinate of the Inspector-General of the Montesayettean Defense Forces and, in turn, is responsible to the President of Montesayette.
As a branch of the security forces, the mission of the Montesayettean Army is to protect the nation's sovereignty and interests, to support civilian authorities, and to engage in international military crisis management operations by providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full range of military operations and the spectrum of conflict.
