The vaß (symbol vs) is a unit of volume or capacity in the Rhaetic measurement system. It is equivalent to four bochèi. The unit is based upon the size of smaller beer barrels used at brewing festivals. Though the size of a vaß has varied in definition over the years, since the passage of the Royal Trading Standards Decree 1716, it has been set to the equivalent of 4286.8 ml.
