Laugleós 4000 series is a screw-driven amphibious craft manufactured in Reykanes by Utanvegar Hf. since 1988. First prototype was created in 1986 and shown off in 1987 and a year later it started production.
This vehicle is notable for being Screw-propelled, allowing it to traverse inhospitable terrains. The vehicle is mainly used by the Reykanes fire brigade (Slökkviliðið Reykjanes) for search and rescue operations in the northern regions, where ordinary vehicles can't reach. Multiple nations use it to travel around in Tierrasur as it can easily overcome the obstacles that occur on the landmass.
Generally the Laugleós 4000 has to be carried on a heavy trucks since the vehicle cannot travel on asphalt, as a example another vehicle by Utanvegar, Sturla 200 series is used in Reykanes.
