Sci Premiera is a Tiroler political satire and sitcom written by Johann Lanker and Marko Pretara. Comprising four six-episode series, it was transmitted from 1983 to 1990. Most episodes were half an hour in duration and a number of hour-long episodes broadcast before national holidays. The title translates as "Yes Premier" and attracted a number of opposition politicians who made appearances in several episodes.
Principally set in the private office of the Premier, Sci Premiera follows the political career of Jago Bocker, played by Hugo Blaesi. The premise of the show is Bocker's struggle to legislate and reform whilst the Tiroler Civil Service and particularly permanent private secretary, Luda Guanella played by Andreas Mei. The title of the show is used satirically by Guanella at the conclusion of conversations with Bocker.
Many of the episodes revolve around proposals backed by Bocker but frustrated by Guanella, who uses a range of clever stratagems to defeat ministerial proposals while seeming to support them. Other episodes revolve around proposals promoted by Guanella but rejected by Bocker, which Guanella attempts by all means necessary to persuade Bocker to accept. They do occasionally join forces in order to achieve a common goal, such as preventing the closure of their department or dealing with a diplomatic incident.
