The R:"zemlya-vozdukh"-72 was an Akvarelian-made self-propelled surface-to-air missile system based on the R: Saydvinder air-to-air missile system. The launcher is based on a family of vehicles developed by Matiometall . It entered service with the Akvarelian Armed Forces in 1969 and was to be phased out in 2005.
