Patrick Gilligan (b. 2007)

Early life and career

Gilligan turned 18 in 2025, when the Icarisian conscription was four years old. He was recruited by the Air Corps and served one year before accepting his education stipend funds and discharged from the service. He attended Paletaph State College and stuided journalism and public affairs. He has joined the debate club and was President of his fraternity before becoming the student body President of the college. Upon graduation he was a journalist covering politics for the Paletaph Chronicle. He became the speech writer for former Chairman of the Libertist Party, Patrick Murphy. At the time, Murphy was doing many speaking engagements and wanted Gilligan's political perspectives. In 2033, when Patrick Murphy announced his candidacy for president, Gilligan was his campaign manager. Murphy successfuly won the Libertist primary only to lose to Esra Eisenhardt in the general election. After the election, Murphy ran for State Minister and won, with Gilligan as his campaign manager and later Chief of Staff. Gilligan left that post in 2036 to become the Director of Business Outreach for the Libertist Party, a position he held for nine years.

Political career

Chairman of the Libertist Party (2045-2052)

In 2045, President Elise Shamir approached Libertist Party Chairman Anna Lacroix to serve as Minister of Infrastructure. Gilligan replaced her when he vacated the position. Gilligan resigned the post seven years later to run for President in 2053.

2053 Presidential Campaign

Gilligan was a well spoken candidate, but the Libertist Party primary was full of many other candidates that had more extensive elected official experience and the primary was won by Tate Dennell.

Chief of Staff to Minister of International Relations (2053-2057)

After Eli Dupont won the presidency, he selected Lucinda Kielska to be his Minister of International Relations. Kielska knew Gilligan from his time as Chairman of their party and asked him to be her Chief of Staff.

State Delegate

Conrad Steffen announced his retirement from the Council of Delegates in 2057, and Gilligsan decided to not return as Kielska's Chief of Staff. He ran a successful campaign in 2058 to represent Paletaph's 3rd District.
