The New Football League is a defunct football confederation that was a part of the International Football Federation. There were two iterations of the NFL; the first existing from 1989-2000 and the second from 2016-2021.
The NFL was founded as one of the first three confederations of the IFF when they transitioned from a unified body into confederations. They were founded along with the Classical Football League and the Southern Football Association. The original composition of the NFL was made up of mostly the west Glaskarnan nations that joined the IFF after the original founders. The NFL had a total of six members before its first dissolution in 2000.
First NFL 1989-2000
The original member nations were Westpond, Hunpesh, Schweinlandia, St Margaret, and Gowcester and added Huangul in 1998. All the nations except Huangul moved into the Northern Football League.
Second NFL 2016-2021
The second NFL was formed after the north/south confederation concept failed and became too large for effective governing. The member nations were the same 5 originals of the previous NFL, and added Druavania and Florani as founding members.
New Football League Champions Challenge
The NFL Champions Challenge was a football tournament between the nations of the NFL. During the first NFL, the championship took place every two years of off-years from the Bjorland Football Challenge. It came back in 2018 for one iteration before the NFL dissolved again in 2021. There have been six NFL Champions Challenges.
