The May 2021 Nazi purge began on 15 May 2021, with the sudden deletion of numerous high-profile neo-Nazi, fascist, and far-right spaces on NationStates. This was clarified by a senior game moderator as being a change to the site's malicious content policy to include the glorification of Nazism. The decision was a major reversal of policy laid down previously in 2016 which permitted "Nazi" in nation and regions names.
